Elections after the holidays
Elections for community head of Dzorastan village and the subsequent elections for the council of elders will be held in Antarashat village of Syunik province on 9 January 2010.
According to secretary of the electoral commission at precinct #38 including the regions of Kapan and Meghri Ramela Hakobyan, the only Dzorastan community head nominee is the incumbent non-partisan village head Avetis Avetisyan.
There are five candidates for the council of elders of Antarashat. One of them is a member of "Bargavach Hayastan" (Prosperous Armenia) party, while the other four are non-partisan and one of the candidates is a woman. Community head of Antarashat Arsen Davtyan is also a member of "Bargavach Hayastan".
The local electoral commissions have already been formed and the inaugural sessions have been held according to plan.
