Policeman charged with hooliganism
The preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated against the policeman of traffic police on committing hooliganism has been completed in the RA Special Investigation Service. The prosecutor who has been supervising the preliminary investigation of the criminal case has confirmed the bill of indictment.
It has been stated during the preliminary investigation that the policeman of the 1st division of the 3rd company of the 1st battalion of the traffic police Karen Hakobyan together with his brother Zaven Hakobyan violated the public order, committed hooliganism by causing severe damage to the health of a citizen.
In particular, pursuant to the preliminary investigation data, on May 15, 2010 at about 08:00 p.m. K. Hakobyan had a quarrel with the driver of "Opel" car A.
Beybutyan, verbally abused and beat the latter in the territory of the Martuni bus station. Later, he made A. Beybutyan come out of the car and continued beating him.
A. Ziroyan, a friend of A. Beybutyan approached them and demanded to stop the hooliganism which made Z. and K. Hakobyans indignant and they used violence against A. Ziroyan by taking the wheel unlock key from the adjacent wheel repair and hit A. Ziroyan on the forehead and left wrist thus causing mild and medium gravity bodily injuries to the latter.
A. Ziroyan's wife A. Sahakyan tried to help her husband, but Z. Hakobyan hit her on the head with a car jenny causing bodily injury dangerous for her life.
On the obtained data, K. Hakobyan has been charged according to the RA Criminal Code Article 258, part 4 and Z. Hakobyan according to the Article 258, part 4 and 112, part 2, point 9. The criminal case has been sent to the Court of First Instance of Gegharquniq region in order to carry out a detailed examination of the case.
