Resignation came as a surprise for the HHK?
Armenian MPs preferred not to speak about Mayor of Yerevan Gagik Beglaryan's resignation and Justice Minister Gevorg Danielyan's dismissal at the National Assembly today.
Head of the HHK (Republican Party of Armenia) faction Galust Sahakyan told "A1+" that Gagik Beglaryan's resignation and the decision on dismissing Gevorg Danielyan from office were not foreseen. "The first had to do with an incident and the other was a problem with duties. Both were not foreseen."
Mr. Sahakyan didn't rush to predict that the Republican Party will win or lose.
Aren't the HHK's positions weakening after Gagik Beglaryan's resignation? In response, HHK MP Artak Davtyan said: "No matter how much influence a person has, he must work by the law and be moral." As far as Gevorg Danielyan's dismissal is concerned, Mr. Davtyan said: "I am not the one to evaluate. The evaluation has already been given through a decree."
"Heritage" MP Armen Martirosyan is certain that this cannot have an impact on the political balance or processes because the course will continue in the same way. Martirosyan has no doubt that the authorities will appoint other worthy candidates for mayor and Justice Minister. "The Council of Elders of Yerevan has already been formed and there will be no change. As far as the Justice Minister is concerned, Serzh Sargsyan will nominate another candidate to continue his policy."
Armen Martirosyan was only surprised to see the formulation for the Justice Minister's dismissal, that is, "improper completion of official duties". "Gevorg Danielyan is one of the ministers that fulfilled the authorities' orders in terms of politics and those orders were many in number after March 1."
