Zhirayr Sefilyan “Army was the only symbol”
"The recent killings in the Armenian army are due to violations of army regulations. Forty-four servicemen were reportedly killed in the army over the past ten months, with seven of them being killed by an enemy bullet. It means Armenians started to kill each other," says member of "Sardarapat" movement initiative group Zhirayr Sefilyan.
"To reduce the killings and prevent future tragedies, we should alter the whole system," Sefilyan told A1+.
"The notions "state" and "statehood" no longer exist in Armenia. Army was the only state symbol that survived in Armenia, but it collapsed after the deadly events of March 1, 2008," he said.
Talking to A1+, Zhirayr Sefilyan said that numerous Armenians have united to change the power in Armenia.
"We want to avert the fall of the capitulation flag. We must remove it ourselves to ensure the country's prosperity in the future," he concluded.
