Three parties to unite?
None of Armenia's political parties has been invited to the 38th Congress of the Communist Party of Armenia to be held at the Government Sessions Hall on November 29.
First Secretary of the Communist Party of Armenia Ruben Tovmasyan told "A1+" that the Communist Party of Armenia has not invited any other political party since they are not invited to other parties' congresses.
The Congress of the Communist Party of Armenia will bring together Communists from 44 structures in Armenia. There is still no initial agreement on the participation of partisans from neighboring countries.
The Communist Party of Armenia will present a report, which will include a comparative analysis of the achievements and failures in Soviet Armenia and the newly independent Armenia. The report will also address the crisis in 2009 and will give evaluations in terms of economy. Comrade Tovmasyan underlined that the report will sharply criticize Armenia's domestic and foreign policies. "This regime is destructive. We can avoid talking about foreign policy, especially the Armenian-Turkish relations which remained unsuccessful."
It is envisaged that the two functioning Communist Parties, including the United Progressive Communist Party and the New Communist Party will join the Communist Party of Armenia. The party's new administration will also be elected during the congress.
Ruben Tovmasyan didn't wish to mention the number of partisans, but he did state that members have been removed for violating the charter of the Communist Party of Armenia.
