Protest march in memory of Zaruhi Petrosyan
On November 25, the Coalition to Stop Violence Against Women in Armenia consisting of 7 non-governmental organizations (Women's Rights Center NGO, Society Without Violence NGO, Tufenkian Foundation's Women's Support Center, PINK Armenia NGO, Zangakatun NGO and Sexual Assault Crisis Center) will be organizing a protest march in memory of a 20-year-old woman, who died as a result of domestic violence.
On November 25, at 15:30 the participants of the march will move from Yerevan's Cascade complex towards Republic Square, during which there will be organized both a petition calling for justice in the death of Zaruhi Petrosyan with a fair prosecution of her abusers and a donation for the bank account of Zaruhi's two-year-old child.
Recall that after Zaruhi Petrosyan's death there have been created a Coalition to Stop Violence Against Women in Armenia consisting of the above-mentioned seven non-governmental organizations in Armenia, which aims at calling for justice in the death of the woman, so that a fair and just verdict is issued in the case against her abusers.
Zaruhi Petrosyan was beaten to death by her husband and mother-in-law on October 01, 2010.
