Sargsyan ended his visit
Serzh Sargsyan ended his working visit to the Russian Federation and returned to Yerevan this evening. On the last day of the visit, the President had a meeting with a number of public and cultural figures of the Russian-Armenian community at the Armenian Embassy in Russia.
The head of state congratulated and presented RA state awards to the public and cultural figures in different spheres.
On the occasion of his 75th anniversary, actor USSR People's Artist Armen Jigarkhanyan was awarded the Medal of Honor for his notable contribution to the strengthening of Armenian-Russian cultural ties and his longstanding, fruitful activities.
Editor-in-chief of "Russia Today" television Margarita Simonyan was awarded the Movses Khorenatsi Medal for her notable contribution to the development of journalism and high professionalism. Sculptor Mikayel Soghoyan was awarded the title of distinguished painter.
After presenting the awards, Serzh Sargsyan presented the results of his November 16 working visit. Within the framework of the visit, Serzh Sargsyan discussed issues of significance for Armenia with the Russian President and the Prime Minister.
"There were positive responses to all questions and I would like to assure you that I am returning to Armenia with more confidence toward the future," said Sargsyan.
