Former Russian PM Chernomyrdin dies at 72
Viktor Chernomyrdin, aide to the Russian president and prime minister of Russia during the country's turbulent years from 1992 to 1998, died Wednesday morning after a long illness.
Chernomyrdin was one of the most authoritative and recognizable Russian politicians in 1990s. From 1992 through to 1998, he headed Russia's government. From 2001 to 2009, Chernomyrdin was Russia's Ambassador in Ukraine. W
