Protest action outside the NA buidling
On October 25, the Armenian National Assembly is excpected to adopt a decision on introducing amendments to the RA Law on Language. The bill envisages opening of foreign-language schools across the country.
"We are Against the Reopening of Foreign-Language Schools" public initiative today staged a protest outside the parliament premises in an attempt to voice its dissent over the controversial amendments.
The protesters do not believe the statement of the RA Minister of Science and Education that the amendments will only affect international educational programs.
"These are empty talks. In reality, Minister Ashotyan meant the opening of eleven foreign-language schools in Armenia," said protester Armen Hovhannisyan.
Deputy Victor Dallakyan promised the group to raise the issue in the parliament today.
