Russian CC President in Yerevan
President Serzh Sargsyan today received President of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation Valery Zorkin. Zorking is on an official visit to Armenia and will participate in the international forum dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the RA Constitution to be held on October 22.
Underlining the Armenian-Russian high-level relations, the head of state mentioned that Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's first state visit to Armenia in August served as an additional impetus for strengthening and development of relations in all spheres.
The president also attached importance to the cooperation and exchange of experience between the constitutional courts of both countries. Serzh Sargsyan mentioned that the RA Constitutional Court is the most developed state institutes in Armenia and has passed a long, but responsible path in the past 15 years. The head of state also spoke about the constitutional reforms made in 2005, which gave citizens the opportunity to address the Constitutional Court and currently, the Court protects the constitutional rights of Armenian citizens.
President of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation Valery Zoarkin said the fact that Yerevan is hosting the international forum goes to show that constitutional justice has an honorable place in Armenia. Valery Zorkin expressed high appreciation of the cooperation between the Armenian and Russian constitutional courts and underlined that the relations between the courts of both countries are successfully developing in the international arena as well.
