Addressed the Karabakh conflict too
On October 21, RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan received Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland. Jagland is in Armenia to participate in the CE Forum for the "Future of Democracy".
Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandyan attached importance to the CE Forum for the "Future of Democracy" in Yerevan and stressed that it serves as a good opportunity for exchange of views on the development of democracy in Europe.
In his turn, Thorbjorn Jagland mentioned that Armenia stands at the core of the "Future of Democracy" and expressed gratitude to the Armenian authorities for organizing the forum at a high level.
Minister Nalbandyan expressed Armenia's support to the Council of Europe's process of reforms and mentioned that it is necessary to make the organization's activities more effective.
Upon the guest's request, Minister Nalbandyan presented the latest developments of the Karabakh conflict settlement. Nalbandyan underlined that the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs are involved in settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and moving the conflict to other platforms will harm the peace process.
