Prescott pushed the “A1+” microphone away
The question regarding the 13 political prisoners in Armenia came as a surprise for PACE Co-Rapporteur on Armenia John Prescott today. "I am not talking about Armenia. I am here within the framework of the forum and I will only talk about that," said Mr. Prescott as he angrily pushed the "A1+" microphone away from him.
But when "A1+" reminded him that he had already addressed the issue of political prisoners and the state of democracy in Armenia during his meeting with RA First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan this morning, John Prescott became more frustrated and screamed "I am not talking about Armenia. I am here for another purpose."
Why aren't you talking about Armenia? In response to that question off camera, John Prescott said: "I am a Co-Rapportuer and I have to prepare a report. When I meet with the authorities, they complain that I am not presenting the reality. When I meet with the opposition, they say I am not presenting the reality either."
Mr. Prescott has arrived in Yerevan to participate in the Forum for the "Future of Democracy".
