“The West is also to blame”

Leader of the "Democratic Homeland" Party Petros Makeyan blamed the West for the current situation in Armenia during the rally at the Matenadaran. He said the European structures were mainly to blame for rating the 2008 presidential elections as a step forward and leading to the tragic events of March 1.

As a former political prisoner, on behalf of him and the other political prisoners, Makeyan suggested demanding the release of 13 political prisoners from the participants of the CE Forum for the "Future of Democracy".
