Picket at 12 p.m.
Today marks the launch of the Council of Europe Forum for the "Future of Democracy".
It is one of the CE's large, annual events that provide the opportunity to hold discussions and exchange views on issues related to fundamental rights and liberties, civic participation and democracy.
The forum will launch at 2 p.m. at the Government Reception House and will end on October 21 at 12:45 p.m.
To draw the attention of the CE and PACE officials in Yerevan, the HAK has scheduled a number of events today, including a picket, a rally and a march. Starting from 12 p.m. the HAK will hold a 6-hour picket near the Government Reception House to protest the state of democracy in Armenia and the issue related to political prisoners.
After the picket, the HAK will hold a rally at 6 p.m. near the Matenadaran.
