Minimum salary should be 120 000 drams
People's Power civil Initiative has issued a statement on the threshold of an opposition rally to be held in Yerevan on October 15.
"Giving each citizen pre-election bribe of 3 drams the authorities put into their pockets 1000 drams. Effective steps to combat corruption in the country should have been taken long ago. The minimum salary should be 120 000 drams in Armenia instead of present 32 500.
For ten years, Robert Kocharian, Serzh Sargsyan and their henchmen pocketed 1000 drams from each citizen and prolonged their stay in power by distributing election bribe of 5000 drams every five years.
We are responsible not only for the present generation but also for the future. Therefore, we call on all citizens who care for the fate of our Motherland to unite and participate in a nationwide demonstration on October 15 in order to restore the constitutional order in the country.
The person, who came to power at the cost of the ten victims of March 1-2, should immediately resign and early elections should be held in the country," reads the statement.
