Turks cross border near Akhurian River

Turkish town Igdir celebrated the 90th anniversary of its liberation on October 10.

The event attended by the town's top brass was dedicated to the townspeople killed during the Russian-Turkish war.
As reported by Turkish broadcaster CNN Turk, Igdir Mayor decided to continue the celebrations near the Armenian-Turkish border where they threw carnations into the River Araks and released doves as an appeal to open the Armenian-Turkish border.

On the same day, members of Powerful Turkey Party crossed the Armenian-Turkish border near the Akhurian River, Turkish newspaper Zaman reports.

They called on Ankara to reopen the border with Armenia before the yearend. Otherwise, they promised to cross the border with thousands of young Armenians and Turks
