Market renovation was postponed
Traders of the "Pak Shuka" (Closed Market) located on Mashtots Avenue have been allowed to work until December 31. The traders' request was fulfilled and the renovation of the market was postponed until after New Year's Day.
Let us remind that yesterday morning traders saw a notice posted on the wall of the entrance to the market according to which the market would be closed on October 14 for a certain period due to renovation. The traders had proposed to postpone the renovation.
"We have debts. We have purchased and stored products to sell them on New Year's. If the market closed, we would have a hard time paying off the debts because we only rely on sales in late December," says a trader.
A cheese trader said the traders have already gotten used to the conditions. They have their customers and don't know where they will be trading after December, especially since it is not clearly mentioned how long the renovation will take. If the traders move to another market, it will take a rather long time for them to have new customers.
