Armenian-Belarusian trading house to be opened in Yerevan
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan today received Trade Minister of the Republic of Belarus Valentin Chekanov. Chekanov is a co-chair of the Armenian-Belarusian joint inter-governmental commission on economic cooperation and is in Armenia to take part in the 8th session of the commission which launched in Yerevan on September 27.
Welcoming the guest, the Prime Minister spoke with content about the dynamic cooperation between both countries and the high level of political dialogue aimed at deepening and strengthening friendly bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the prospects for expanding trade-economic cooperation and stressed the need of full use of the existing potential. In that context, the sides attached importance on the activities of the Armenian-Belarusian joint inter-governmental commission on economic cooperation and the opening of an Armenian-Belarusian trading house in Yerevan to launch on 2010 September 30.
Minister Chekanov presented the agreements on specific programs reached after the commission's 8th session, particularly the discussion on perspectives of implementing joint programs in industry, agriculture, education, medicine, advanced technologies and tourism. Valentin Chekanov also spoke about the successful inter-regional cooperation and underlined the importance of the development of cooperation between Yerevan and Minsk.
The sides also spoke about the need of strengthening humanitarian relations between both nations. In that regard, the RA Prime Minister attached importance to the Days of Armenian Culture in Belarus to be held in 2011.
In the end, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan conveyed warm greetings to his Belarusian counterpart Sergey Sidorsky.
