Assassination attempt against the Vice-President
An assassination attempt against Abkhazia's Vice-President Alexander Ankvab took place last night around 3 a.m. Moscow time. A grenade was thrown to his house in the Gudaut district and fell in the vice-president's bedroom. Ankvab received hand and foot injuries.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia Ramin Gablay informed mass media outlets that the vice-president is currently in critical but stable condition and there are no other victims. The vice-president has not been hospitalized and received first aid at home.
President of Abkhazia Sergey Baghapsh has announced that the assassination attempt against the vice-president is aimed at destabilizing the situation in the country.
Let us mention that this is already the 4th assassination attempt against Alexander Ankvab. The previous three attempts were during his tenure as Prime Minister of Abkhazia.
