Various experts gave speeches during a discussion on Armenia's social-economic situation organized yesterday by the "Sardarapat" movement's initiating group at the Writers' Union of Armenia.

According to member of the "Sardarapat" movement's initiating group Tigran Khzmalyan, the discussions will help eradicate the falsehood. "We have invited people whose activities are not accepted by the government. But they are the best experts that have analyzed the economic state in their spheres," said Kzhmalyan.

Member of the movement's initiating group Alek Yenigomshyan, who fought in the war and lost his vision, is concerned that the elimination of Armenians causes a threat to Armenia and the first reason for that is emigration. "In the past eight months, 61,000 citizens have left the country. Our nation can't survive like this and at this rate the Diaspora will no longer exist as well. Our only salvation is repatriation and for that we have to build a country that will not leave the nation astray," said Yenigomshyan.
President of "Ecodar" NGO, environmentalist Hrair Savzyan rated Armenia's ecology as the worst and brought up a number of ecological issues, including the exploitation of the Teghut ore, wastes and deforestation. The environmentalist says the government's claim according to which there will be 20.1 percent of forest areas by 2050 is ridiculous.

Member of "Kenats Tun" cultural NGO, art critic Lala Mnoyan believes that Armenian language, education, family and individuals are in danger. "No matter how strange it sounds, we have to fight against our own state and not foreign states. Families are losing their dignity due to the government's carelessness. The awareness of the country, the government, the nation and the homeland and their systems of values are replaced by tendencies to take care of personal needs. This endangers the assurance of a new generation," added the art critic.
