Nalbandian refers to Azerbaijan’s military stance
"Given the fact that security and prosperity are interrelated, the governments spare no efforts to prevent their peoples from calamities both inside and outside their countries. In this sense, the armament drive threatens not only peace and security, but also economic and social development. Unfortunately, such challenges exist in our region, as well," Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said at the UN summit dedicated to the implementation of Millennium Development Goals.
"Azerbaijan continues to reject the proposal to reach an agreement on non-use of force or the threat of force. This contradicts the UN principles, the founders of which united to protect the coming generations from the danger of war. Today we see the bellicose position of Azerbaijan, the multiplication of its military budget, militant rhetoric and provocations, which threatens regional security and stability," he continued.
"While we are talking about progress and sharing thoughts on our future goals, there are still nations who remain outside the focus of attention of the international community.
The people of Nagorno-Karabakh have made every effort to create favorable living conditions and ensure the protection of human rights. And they do it without the support of the international community. Nagorno Karabakh continues to expect due assistance programs
Unless the damages infliced on innocent people due to inaction are recovered, we cannot say that all objectives are achieved, and equality and justice are ensured in the globe," said Minister Nalbandian.
