Medvedev, Obama and Gül congratulated

Serzh Sargsyan has received numerous congratulatory messages from presidents, reputable international organizations and individual citizens on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of Armenia's Independence.

In the congratulatory message by President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev it is stated in particular:

"I cordially congratulate you on your national holiday -Independence Day.

During my recent visit to Armenia, I became convinced that the strengthening of centuries-old traditions of Armenian-Russian friendship continues. Our citizens are proud of the glorious pages of our common history, joint achievements and victories. A vivid example of that is the reconstruction of the Hill of Honor memorial complex. We are grateful to the Armenian nation for the careful attitude towards the monuments dedicated to our soldiers.

On a solid basis of trust and cooperation, Armenia and Russia are building their strategic partnership, holding active political dialogue and coordinating their steps more efficiently on the regional and international arena.

We have reached important decisions on the advancement of joint economic projects, including in the innovation and humanitarian spheres.

I'm confident that these agreements will contribute to the further deepening of bilateral ties for the benefit of our countries and for the sake of peace and stability in the Transcaucasian region.

I wish you health and new achievements, as well peace and prosperity to the people of Armenia."


Congratulatory message of U.S. President Barack Obama:

"Dear Mr. President, the United States joins you and all Armenians in celebrating Armenia's Day of Independence.

On this occasion we express our appreciation and respect for the spirit of the Armenian people and their achievements all over the world.

The US is proud of the historic ties and friendship between our countries and values the contributions of so many Americans of Armenian ancestry. We congratulate the people of Armenia on their national day."

On the occasion of the 19th anniversary of Armenia's Independence Day President Serzh Sargsyan has also received congratulatory messages from King of Sweden Karl Gustav, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, President of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gül , President of the Republic of Serbia Boris Tadich, President of Switzerland Doris Loytard, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha.
