During the summit of Turkic-language speaking countries going on in Istanbul Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev mainly spoke about the Karabakh conflict stressing that Karabakh is an Azerbaijani territory.

"We want to put an end to the conflict in Nagorno Karabakh by peaceful talks. The right of peoples to self-determination must not frustrate territorial integrity," said Aliyev.

Further, he recalled Azerbaijan's failed initiatives to raise the issue in different structures.

"We shall take practical steps to keep the issue on the agenda," the Azerbaijani president said.

Turkey's Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu also referred to the Karabakh conflict today stating Karabakh's present status cannot remain unchanged, CCN Turk reports.

"Ankara does not wish to become a rival of co-chairing countries but the peace in Caucasus proceeds from the interests of all regional countries," he said.

Armenian-Turkish peace deal is possible after Armenia and Azerbaijan reach an agreement over the Karabakh conflict, the Turkish premier reiterated.
