“Bad peace is more preferable”
Postponement of discussion of Azerbaijani resolution "On the occupied territories of Azerbaijan" at the UN General Assembly has aroused heated debates in different circles.
Azerbaijan withdrew the resolution as it realized that superpowers led by the OSCE MG co-chair countries would not support it, member of the Public Council at the RA Defense Ministry David Jamalyan and historian Edgar Hovhannisyan said at the "Henaran" club today.
"Postponement is also a victory of our diplomacy," said David Jamalyan. "Superpower made Azerbaijan realize that bad peace is preferable to war."
"Russia also played a significant role in the postponement of the discussion of Azerbaijani resolution. With the signing of a Russian-Armenian military agreement, Russia expressed seconded the maintenance of regional equilibrium," he added.
For his turn, Edgar Hovhannisyan said that Azerbaijan was unable to change the situation especially after the agreements in St. Petersburg.
In this context, they labeled the recent sabotage of Azerbaijan as an attempt to blackmail superpowers, which, however, was neutralized by Armenian side.
