NKR MFA: Fassier wasn’t mistaken
Commentary by the NKR Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
"During the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs' last visit to Stepanakert, in response to journalists' questions, French Co-Chair Bernard Fassier announced that "...we haven't crossed the border, but the line of contact."
Being a highly experienced diplomat, Mr. Fassier was not mistaken when he said that the Co-Chairs had not crossed the border, but the line of contact for two reasons. First, the OSCE MG Co-Chairs crossed the line of contact of the NKR and Azerbaijani Armed Forces from the NKR territory which is currently occupied by Azerbaijan.
Secondly, that is the sector of the line of contact that is gradually becoming the resistance of the NKR and Azerbaijani Armed Forces due to Azerbaijan's persistent and aggressive efforts.
For that reason, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs personally held the monitoring by crossing the line of contact with the purpose of minimizing the level of resistance between the armed forces of the NKR and Azerbaijan."
