Decision against the municipality?
By 4 p.m. today, Judge of the Administrative Court Artsrun Mirzoyan must decide whether the Yerevan Municipality's decision on prohibiting the HAK (Armenian National Congress) from holding a rally at Freedom Square is legal or illegal.
The reason for prohibition was that there was another event scheduled there within the framework of the Erebuni-Yerevan celebration. The Armenian National Congress had scheduled to hold a rally at Freedom Square on September 17.
In court, representative of the plaintiff Vahe Hovsepyan informed that there had not been any other notice that day, while the mayor's authorized representative Gagik Baghdasaryan informed that they didn't have to inform the Congress about the event.
Today authorized representative of Yerevan Municipality Lusine Stepanyan presented a register in which it was stated that there was an event scheduled for that day.
But Vahe Hovsepyan petitioned the court to call and interrogate the person who had taken the notice and see that there was no event scheduled for that day.
Although Vahe Hovsepyan has no expectations, he said that his testimony may definitely be of significance. "In any case, the court is the court," says Vahe Hovsepyan.
