Today Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan held a discussion devoted to reforms in public education with the participation of RA ministers, heads of regions and representatives of interested ministries.

Ahead of the new academic school year, RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan presented the process of implementation of reforms, the current problems and the issues that require rapid solutions. Among other issues, the sides particularly discussed issues related to ensuring the unity of the state policy, improving the quality of public education and raising the level of effectiveness.

It was mentioned that within the framework of the reforms based on the RA law on "Public Education", by the decision of the RA Government all public schools will be introduced to a mechanism for internal and external assessment, which will provide the opportunity to rate schools based on the principle of competition. It was informed that the government will soon confirm the order of teachers' attestation and the accreditation of school principals will begin by the end of the year.

Summing up the discussion and reaffirming the importance of proportional territorial development, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan assigned to keep the issues facing community schools in the center of attention.
