Armenian grandmaster Hrant Melkumyan played a tie with Azerbaijan's Eltay Safarli in the 8th of the international tournament in Benasque, Spain.
Currently, Melkumyan is 12th with 6,5 points.
Karen Movsisyan and Zaven Andreasyan sustained defeats in the 8th round and took 38th and 42th places respectively.
