"Robert Kocharyan will be brought to justice"
"The status of Nagorno-Karabakh is moving from bad to the worst and international organizations are not the main ones to blame, but Armenia's diplomacy which is getting worse by the day," said HAK (Armenian National Congress) representative David Shahanzaryan today.
According to him, each new proposal given by the international community is worse than the previous one. "There is a fundamental difference between the statements made by the Co-Chair countries in L'Aquila and the Canadian city of Muskoka. Whereas in the first case, the principles of settlement were presented through a statement, now they have been moved to a document. However, Armenia's authorities officially announce that Azerbaijan must declare if it accepts them or not," says Shahnazaryan, considering that as distortion of the accepted principles.
He also considers that the Armenian authorities made the most significant mistake by not demanding that the international community examine the military operations of Azerbaijan as a clear violation.
According to him, Azerbaijan will use threats as long as the Armenian authorities allow Azerbaijan to do so.
The HAK representative also touched upon US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's upcoming visit to the region. According to him, the issues to be discussed in Baku will be Afghanistan, Iran, then NABUKO and finally, the Karabakh conflict.
"During the meeting with the Armenian authorities, the sides will discuss issues related to Armenian-Turkish relations, Nagorno-Karabakh and democracy," said David Shahanzaryan, attaching importance to Clinton's public announcement on the latter issue.
Touching upon the response from Haaga International Criminal Tribunal, David Shahnazaryan assured: "Let nobody have any doubts. Robert Kocharyan is temporarily in liberty, but he will be brought to justice in front of the entire Armenian nation."
