Regional branch in Armenia
The delegation of Italy's International Center for Relativistic Astrophysics is in Armenia.
Director of the center, Professor Remo Raffini, Professors Grigori Vereshchagin and Massimo Della Valle are leading negotiations with the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia on establishing a regional branch of the International Center for Relativistic Astrophysics in Armenia.
It is envisaged to organize courses for astrophysics in Armenia, the Arab countries, the Near East, Iran, Turkey and China at the branch in Armenia.
On October 16, 2009, the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia and the International Center for Relativistic Astrophysics signed an agreement on cooperation which envisages specializing cadres, training and joint research. Within the framework of the agreement, Armenia has already commissioned one post-graduate student to Italy to listen to the lectures and take part in the center's projects.
