Razmik Zohrabyan: “The attack had been plotted”
"I can simply call it cowardice. Ilham Aliyev made a mean step which is not characteristic of a country's head," deputy chairman of the Republican party Razmik Zohrabyan said commenting on Azerbaijan's attack on Karabakh's positions.
Aliyev had better abstain from the trilateral meeting in St. Petersburg.
"He came and left spoiling the whole process," he said.
The attack had been plotted for a few months. Azerbaijan planned it after withdrawing from the Madrid Principles and calling for an updated document.
Aliyev left St. Petersburg immediately to avoid explanations over the attack. I think that the Russian President and Minsk Group Co-Chairs should make a rough statement on the incident denouncing Azerbaijan's subversive act. The Minsk Group should pressurize Azerbaijan to continue negotiations based on the Madrid Principles," said Zohrabyan.
Razmik Zohrabyan thinks the attack was an order by Azerbaijan's elder brother -Turkey though he rules out the possibility of a war.
"Azerbaijan cannot start a war with a single act of sabotage. Superpowers will not allow them. But if suddenly a war breaks out in the region, it will grow into a third world war. "
