Number of sit-in strikers increased
The Committee for Protection of Political Prisoners is holding a sit-down strike in defence of political prisoners at Yerevan's Liberty Square on June 18.
The leader of the New Times Party (NZhK), Aram Karapetyan, is going to join the strikers at the recently renovated square. Today he has issued a statement today voicing support for the committee.
Recall that Gagik Jhangiryan, Ararat Zurabyan, Miasnik Malkhasyan, Alexander Zurabyan and Karapet Rubinyan are among the strikers who demand immediate release of the political prisoners.
The City Hall has not sanctioned the strike.
