Armenia's Cassation Court has rejected the claim of 7230 plaintiffs challenging the decision of the Administrative Court. The court ruled that the citizens' complaint against the recent gas price increase should be studied in written form.

The plaintiffs were informed about the court decision on June 15, says Lawyer Vahe Hovsepyan.

Starting April 1, gas prices went up from AMD 96 to 132 per cu m in Armenia. Enterprises consuming over 10 000 cubic meters monthly pay $243.13 per 1000 cu m instead of former $215.

In April 2010, at the initiative of the Armenian National Congress (HAK), 7230 citizens filed an action to the RA Administrative Court with a demand to invalidate the decision of the Public Services Regulatory Commission on gas price increase.
