Be careful with Turkey

Turkey simply saw that it couldn't achieve a blitz victory in Southern Caucasus by combining the pro-Turkish solution to the Karabakh conflict with the rather unfavorable Protocols for the Armenian side and started a new attack," deputy of "Heritage" faction Larisa Alaverdyan told "A1+".

According to her, seeing that Europe and the West don't value Turkey as it is, Turkey decided to solve the problem in the Middle East, particularly the Gaza Sector.

"It did it in the rudest way, but in a way that best characterizes Turkish diplomacy, that is, by distorting the meaning of a humanitarian action and taking a step that endangered the fragile stability in the region. I mean both the Middle East and the Caucasus, not only South Caucasus. Turkey wants to show that it does not have too much patience. Turkey's friendliness has a high price and its complaints and anger are simply horrifying," said Alaverdyan.

Larisa Alaverdyan deems it necessary to make a warning call to Armenian state diplomats. "I warn them to be more careful and see deeper obstacles than they have seen up to this point when engaging in a process of establishing relations with any predictable neighbor."

Mrs. Alaverdyan stressed that Turkey and Israel are players that engage in very complicated relations, lead policies that are in their interest and always come out without any harm. "That is why when Armenian diplomats and politicians expressed joy after showing the world what Turkey really was, Turkey very quickly proved that it was doing that without any losses and by distorting the precious system of values for us, or at least the West, it led to the point where the West was forced to condemn Israel.

"This is an unprecedented tension and there has not been this kind of tension between Turkey and Israel in the past 25 years," secretary of "Bargavach Hayastan" faction Aram Safaryan told "A1+".

"For the past week, we have kept hearing that Israel and Turkey are strategic allies. Now Israel has a very stereotypical position on Turkey like never before," said Safaryan, who also foresaw tension that will bring to the gravest tension in bilateral relations. "Jewish structures, especially financial and lobbying organizations, can take hold of such a position on Turkey that will greatly destabilize the domestic situation in Turkey. I think Jewish structures of the world, not Israel and international Jewish organizations have the opportunity and I believe that Turkey's Prime Minister and the ruling party know this. That is why I am sure they will avoid extreme manifestations."

Aram Safaryan doesn't think Israel will, for instance, improve relations with Armenia to destroy relations with Turkey as compensation. "This is a more complicated issue and is related to Israel's special relations with Azerbaijan."

As far as genocide recognition is concerned, according to Aram Safaryan, the issue will be raised and promoted, but there are many impediments for recognition. "We shouldn't hope for that."

Republican Artak Zakaryan isn't trying to link Turkish-Armenian relations with the current Turkish-Israeli relations.

"Turkish-Armenian relations remain at the same level as before and I don't see new developments."
