French Armenians address letter to President Sarkozy
Georgia's President Micheil Saakashvili will visit France on an official visit on June 7-8. On this occassion, the Yerkir Europe Organization has addressed a letter to France's President Nikolas Sarkozy presenting the policy of discrimination applied by Georgian authorities against Javakh Armenians.
In particular, the letter reffers to the georgian authoroties' political reprisal against Javakh political activist Vahagn Chakhalyan, the trumped-up charges, ridiculous trial and the verdict of ten years' sentence.
The organization urges the French President to persuade his Georgian counterpart to stop violating the rights of Georgian Armenian and immedauitely release Vahagn Chakhalyan.
