Gas price claim still to be heard
The RA Administrative Court will hold a sitting to hear RA citizens' complaint against the recent gas price hike after the Cassation Court publicises its decision.
In April 2010, some 7230 citizens filed an action to the RA Administrative Court with a demand to recognize the decision of the Public Services Regulatory Commission on gas price increase as invalid.
The Court decided to study the case in a written order which made lawyer Vahe Hovsepyan appeal to the Cassation Court.
"We took the case to the Administrative Court a month ago. This is an interim judicial act and the Court simply needs to fix a date in order to grant or reject the claim," says Vahe Hovsepyan.
Recall that starting April 1, gas prices went up from AMD 96 to 132 per cu m in Armenia. Enterprises consuming over 10 000 cubic meters monthly pay $243.13 per 1000 cu m instead of former $215.
