22-year old journalist for "Haykakan Zhamanak" daily Ani Gevorgyan has been released. A short while ago, the Special Investigative Service chose Ani's signature of not leaving the country as a precautionary measure.

Ani was detained under the charge of applying force against a state representative (Part 1, Article 316 of the RA Penal Code).

She and 15 pro-opposition activists were arrested near Freedom Square on May 31 while the journalist was providing coverage of an event.

The same precautionary measure was chosen for her brother Sargis Gevorgyan who was arrested on the same day and alleged of hooliganism.
