Yerevan Municipality disapproved of all projects
Eleven years ago a sign appeared in Mashtots Avenue announcing a tender for a monument to be unveiled in the area to national hero Karen Demirtchyan.
A few tenders have been called ever since but none of the projects has been approved by the Yerevan Municipality and the Demirtchyans' family.
Talking to A1+, Yerevan's chief architect Samvel Danielyan said none of the projects was good enough to meet the required criteria.
It is still unknown when the next tender will be announced.
Under a presidential decree of 1999, the City Hall was instructed to name one of the capital's streets after Karen Demirtchyan and unveil a monument in the street.
