Ankara’s new intention
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Saturday that Turkey is eager to reopen its borders with Armenia, because it wants a full integration with its neighbors. Davutoglu maded the statement in a conference titled "Turkish Foreign Policy in Changing World" held in Oxford
"We want to open our border with Armenia because we want full integration with our neighbors. However, reopening of Turkey-Armenia border is not enough. It is also essential to open Armenian-Azerbaijani border, as it is the only way to provide stability," announced the Turkish FM.
"Turkey wants security and stability in the Middle East, Caucasus, Balkans and Gulf region, he added.
"Why do we so active regarding Iran's nuclear program? It is not because we defend Iran, but we want a safe region. We don't want Iran to have nuclear weapons and we don't want any military tension in the region," said Davutoglu.
