Foodstuff prices went up in Armenia

The National Statistical Service reported that 1.3% inflation was recorded at Armenia's consumer market in April as compared with March 2010. The prices for foodstuff (including alcoholic beverages and cigarettes) increased by 0.7%, while for non-foods - by 1.8%. Besides, 2.2% growth was recorded in tariffs for services during the reported period.

The prices of lemon, orange, pomegranate, banana and tangerine have gone up by 1,5% compared with the data of last month. A week ago a kilo of banana was sold at 700-750 AMD, while today it costs 950 AMD.

Sugar price has increased by 4.5%, petrol and diesel prices by 4.8% and 5.8% respectively.

Consumer prices rose 6.8% in a year and 31.1% in five years.
