The flowers placed near the Eternal Flame at the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex symbolize the 1,5 million Armenians murdered during the massacre of 1915.
They symbolize the 1,5 million victims who found no tomb, who were deprived of their childhood, youth, home, family and HOMELAND. They lost everything because of ... the Turkish yoke that slaughtered children and grown-ups without having mercy on anyone.
April 24, 1915, was fatal for Armenians living in the Ottoman Turkey. Turks started the slaughter by beheading Armenian intellectuals.
95 years ago, on April 24, 1,5 million Armenians fell victim to the Ottoman sword. More than 800 000 Armenians took the path of migration finding shelter in diferent angles of the world.
Armenians ascending to the Tsitsrenakaberd hill not only pay tribute to the Genocide victims but also remid the world of their wound, grief and sorrow, anguish of a genocide survivor who denounces similar crimes against the human race.
