Although former RA Foreign Minister Alexander Arzumanyan is no longer a political prisoner, his wife Melissa Brown presented the issues concerning the families of political prisoners today.

During the ANC rally, Melissa Brown talked about violations of human rights and took note that the police always beat the same people and send them to prison.

She also touched upon the fact that no police interfered the action being held at Aram Khachatryan statue during the FIDH conference.

"It was a show organized for conference participants," she said and invited everyone to participate in the actions held every Friday near the prosecutor's office building where there are more police than participants.

The ANC had prepared an address to the participants of the FIDH conference and it was read by Arman Musinyan at the Matenadaran.

The address states how important protection of human rights is in Armenia because the country is "behind the bars of a political crisis". Arman Musinyan noted that the Armenian authorities will use the FIDH conference in their "propaganda", but it is also an opportunity to touch upon human rights issues in Armenia.

ANC representatives, economists Vahagn Khachatryan and Hrant Bagratyan touched upon the gas price increase. The ANC has filed an appeal to the Administrative Court with the demand to recognize the decision of the Public Services Regulatory Commission on raising gas prices as invalid.

Vahagn Khachatryan took note that the government is continuing the war against its own people with such steps and that war will continue as long as the people keep being patient. Former prime minister Hrant Bagratyan presented many figures to show that "ArmRusGazard" is robbing RA citizens. For example, he mentioned that the director of the company leaves on business trips 24 times a year and always spends 1 million drams.

The rally is in progress.
