Great Britain and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have finished implementing a project for atomic security in Armenia.

Great Britain has provided funding worth $1.8 million dollars through the project "Reduction of World Danger" with the purpose to improve the physical defense of the Metsamor atomic station.

The project was implemented by the IAEA Nuclear Security Fund.

The project for improving security of Metsamor atomic station is the last among the list of projects of UK Nuclear Security through which a number of countries have received assistance worth $14 million dollars. A quarter of the money has been directed toward Armenia, which is the project's largest beneficiary.

Information was provided to "A1+" by the press service of the UK Embassy in Armenia.
