Ashot Gulyan: “No conflict can be settled in haste”
"When we speak about a rapid regulation of a conflict, we should take into consideration that the risks of making a mistake are great," NKR Parliament Speaker Ashot Gulyan told a press conference in Yerevan when commenting on the statement of Goran Lenmarker, Special Representative of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly for Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
Goran Lenmarker said "it's necessary to solve the Karbakh conflict as soon as possible without further delay."
"I would like to ask the same question to Mr. Lenmarker but he wasn't present at today's meeting. Perhaps, you have noticed that Lenmarker expects a breakthrough in the conflict settlement every year, but the process neither benefits not suffers from this," Ashot Gulyan said following his meeting with OSCE PA President Joao Soares.
"We cannot imagine the resolution of the Karabakh issue without the participation of Nagorno Karabakh Republic. We expect Karabakh's full participation in the talks which will enable the country to introduce its concerns and position," Ashot Gulyan added.
Karabakh has not received the Madrid Principles though the country is aware of them.
Ashot Gulyan invited Mr. Joao Soares to Karabakh to get closely acknowledged with the country's problems.
Journalists could not address their questions to the OSCE PA President as the latter departed immediately after the meeting. He will leave for Baku tomorrow morning.
