Dinner with French Armenians

On March 10, President Serzh Sargsyan met with Chairman of the French Senate Gerard Larshe in Paris in line with his official visit to France.

The RA President underlined the special role of the parliaments of both countries in further deepening of warm, traditional and friendly relations between Armenia and France. Serzh Sargsyan praised the efforts of the French Senate's France-Armenia Friendship Group and the current level of cooperation within inter-parliamentary organizations, attached importance to mutual visits and contacts between both parliaments. Gerard Larshe reaffirmed the Senate's willingness to promote the development of the French-Armenian friendly relations.

Upon the request of the Chairman of the French Senate, Serzh Sargsyan presented Armenia's position on the talks on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, regional issues and perspectives for normalization of Turkish-Armenian relations. The parties also touched upon other issues of bilateral interest.

During his visit to Paris, Serzh Sargsyan met with Chairman of the French National Assembly Bernard Akuaye. The RA President praised the active efforts of the members of the France-Armenia Friendship Group of the French parliament's lower chamber, underlining the notable contribution made by former and current chairmen Fransua Roshbluan and Rene Ruke in the strengthening of French-Armenian friendship, as well as the principled and objective approaches to Armenia's issues of national importance.

Serzh Sargsyan and Bernard Akuaye also exchanged views on regional issues, touched upon perspectives for promoting bilateral friendly relations in different spheres.

Serzh Sargsyan's official visit to France ended after a dinner with a group of prominent representatives of the French Armenian community in Paris.

The delegation led by the RA President will arrive in Yerevan in the evening.
