OSCE PA Chairman to visit Armenia

The delegation led by Chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Joao Soares will arrive in Armenia on the evening of March 10.
The chairman is scheduled to have meetings with the Armenian and NKR authorities, His Holiness, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, as well as visit the Armenian Genocide Memorial. On the second day of his visit, the delegation led by Joao Soares will take part in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly's Rose-Rot seminar.
Chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Joao Soares has started his regional visit in Georgia. During today's press conference, Joao Soares announced that he plans to meet with Georgian authorities and the opposition during his visit to the country. "We will try to find the solution to all issues facing Georgia at the parliamentary level," he said.
Joao Soares first met with Georgia's State Minister of Euro-Integration Georgi Baramidze and announced that the OSCE observers will return to Georgia.
"The OSCE will continue the struggle to reach consensus on that issue," he said.
Let us remind that the OSCE observer mission officially ended activities in Georgia on June 30, 2009 when Russia put a veto on extending Georgia's OSCE mandate. Souaresh also mentioned that the organization focuses its attention to issues of refugees in Georgia and he personally plans to visit Jerovani where there are refugees from Tskhinvali.
The head of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly also met with vice-speaker of the Georgian parliament Gigi Tsereteli. After the meeting, the latter announced that it is possible to adopt a special resolution on the territories of Abkhazia and South Osetia during the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's Summit to be held in Olso this summer.
The last stop on Joao Soares 's regional visit is Baku where he will meet with the Azerbaijani President.
This is Joao Soares 's first visit to the South Caucasus region as Chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. The delegation led by Joao Soares includes Special Representative of the OSCE on Georgia and Nagorno-Karabakh Goran Lenmarker.
