Armed attack on the consulate
As reported by CNN Turk, a stranger tried to break into and bomb the Ukrainian Consulate of Turkey at 10 a.m. local time.
He was stopped and shot by security guards. The stranger was injured and transferred to a hospital and investigators found that he had a time bomb.
People at the consulate and the surrounding area are currently being evacuated. The Mayor of Istanbul has announced that the incident was not politically motivated and was of a personal nature. Preliminary investigation is underway.
