RA Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan met yesterday with his French counterpart Herve Morin.

After the private talks, the Ministers held talks in a wide format with the delegations of both countries. The parties discussed issues of bilateral interest regarding military partnership, presented their views on challenges facing regional, European and international security, touched upon the Armenian-French defense partnership within the framework of the implemented activities and perspectives for development. The RA Defense Minister invited his French counterpart to an official visit to Armenia.

After the talks, the Defense Ministers signed a treaty on Armenian-French bilateral defense partnership, which will be a legal basis for broadening military partnership between both countries.

On the same day, the RA Minister of Defense was received by chairman of the French National Assembly's standing committee on security, defense and internal affairs, Gi Tesie.

The RA Minister of Defense also visited to the Mother Temple of Hovhannes Mkrtich of Paris where he met with clergymen and representatives of the French Armenian community.

According to information from the department of information and public relations of the RA Ministry of Defense, on the same day the Armenian delegation participated in a ceremony and laid wreaths near the Mont Valerien memorial in memory of the soldiers who died in the struggle for freedom and independence during WWII.
