Prison “narcomania”
The preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on the illegal turnover of narcotic drugs and abuse of official duties by the employee of the "Nubarashen" penitentiary was completed in the Special Investigation Service.
The prosecutor supervision the pre-trial legality of the criminal case confirmed the bill of indictment.
During the preliminary investigation it was found out and stated that G. Barseghyan, the head specialist of the division for the protection of life-sentence prisoners, in October-November, 2009 had illegally obtained 5 gram of marijuana and psychotropic materials, had sold them to the prisoner A. Torosyan and had received 20.000 drams.
In November, 2009 G. Barseghyan again had illegally obtained and kept 0.0186 gram buprenorphine, 0.402 dram acetylated opium and 1.983 gram marijuana. On November 25, G. Barseghyan had hidden the illegally obtained narcotic drugs in the tie of his uniform and in order to sell it to A. Torosyan tried to take it to the territory of the "Nubarashen" penitentiary. However, it had been revealed and confiscated by the employees of RA National Security Service.
On the obtained evidence G. Barseghyan was charged pursuant to the RA Criminal Code Article 266, part 2, 2.1, 3 and 308, part 1.
A. Torosyan was charged pursuant to the RA Criminal Code Article 268, part 2, point 1 and 34-268, part 2, points 1 and 2.
The criminal case was sent to the Court of First Instance of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts for the detailed investigation.
