Awards for the best
Today Serzh Sargsyan presented the2009 RA state awards to representatives of the fields of literature, social-political journalism, music, fine arts, architecture and urban development, whose works have been acknowledged as the best by the contest committees.
Sargsyan congratulated the prize winners and expressed his appreciation for the fact that the award ceremony has already become traditional.
President Sargsyan said it was time to establish two new awards in the fields of exact and natural, as well as the humanitarian and public sciences. According to Sargsyan, the prize money will double.
Sargsyan said that although the financial-economic crisis caused a blow to Armenia and the difficulties have not been fully overcome yet, nevertheless, the government must not forget the important role of art, literature and culture and must show that not only through words, but also through actions.
